After a 31-year marriage, the wife sought divorce on the ground of the husband's unreasonable behaviour under s 95(3)(b) of the Women's Charter, citing various incidents including financial abuse, controlling behaviour, verbal abuse, and a failure to provide emotional support. The trial spanned six hearing days with three additional witnesses. The Family Court dismissed the wife's claim for divorce, finding she had not established that the husband's behaviour was such that she could not reasonably be expected to live with him, and awarded costs of $12,000 to the husband.
