Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and the choices you have. This policy covers sgcaselaw.com.
The short version
SG Case Law is a free reference site. You can read everything without creating an account, and we ask for no personal information to use the site. The data we handle is limited to standard web analytics, advertising cookies served by Google, routine server logs, and whatever you choose to send us by email.
Information we collect
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not use it to identify you personally.
- Server logs. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Email. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to act on corrections; we do not add you to any mailing list.
Advertising and cookies
We display, or may display, advertising served by Google AdSense to keep the site free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. For more on how Google uses data when you use partner sites, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage is turned off by default and a consent message will ask for your choice before any personalised advertising is served.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal data.
- We don't require accounts, and we hold no user database.
- We don't send marketing email.
About the people named in judgments
Pages on this site name judges, counsel, and parties because they appear in published court judgments — public records released by the Singapore courts. We compile from those primary sources and do not add private information about anyone. If you believe a page misstates what a judgment says, please use our corrections process.
Your rights
Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and where it applies the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may ask us what personal data we hold about you (typically nothing beyond email correspondence — plus, if you are named in a published judgment, the information from that public record, as described above), ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent to analytics or advertising cookies via the opt-outs above or your browser's cookie controls. Write to [email protected] for any privacy request and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data — for example, when advertising goes live — we will update this page and its "Updated" date. The current version always lives at this URL.
