Terms of Use

By using sgcaselaw.com you agree to these terms. They are short and in plain English — please read them.

What this site is for

SG Case Law is a free reference database of Singapore court judgments and plain-English explanations built from them. It is provided for research and general information. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create a solicitor–client relationship — our disclaimer explains this in full and forms part of these terms.

Permitted use

You may read, search, link to, and quote from the site freely, with attribution where you republish our explanatory content. You may not misrepresent the site's content as legal advice, present our pages as an official record of the courts, scrape the site at volumes that degrade it for others, or use the data to build misleading profiles of the individuals named in judgments.

Intellectual property

Court judgments are public records; we claim no rights over them, and the authoritative versions are published on eLitigation. The compilation, structured data, summaries, and explanatory text on this site are the work of SG Case Law.

Accuracy and availability

We compile from primary sources on a best-effort basis but provide the site "as is", without warranty that it is complete, current, error-free, or continuously available. Cases are appealed and overruled and statutes are amended after pages are written — always check the primary source. Our methodology explains how content is produced, and our corrections process is how errors get fixed.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SG Case Law is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the site's content or from its unavailability. Nothing on this site substitutes for advice from a qualified Singapore Advocate & Solicitor about your specific circumstances.

Advertising and third-party links

The site may display advertising served by Google AdSense; advertisers do not influence our content, and an ad's presence is not an endorsement. Links to external sites (including eLitigation and Singapore Statutes Online) lead to content we do not control. Our privacy policy explains the cookies involved.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. We may update them from time to time; the current version always lives at this URL with an honest "Updated" date. Questions? Write to [email protected].
