Father of XZM and Child Protector

This matter concerned an appeal by the Father against interim orders made under s 54 of the Children and Young Persons Act committing the Child, XZM (born 8 August 2025), to a Place of Temporary Care and Protection at KK Women's and Children's Hospital until 28 January 2026 and thereafter to the care of a Fit Person, subject to conditions including supervised contact and safety checks. District Judge Wendy Yu noted that the Child, then five months old, required close attention and had been diagnosed with left congenital talipes equinovarus (clubbed leg) requiring a leg cast until age four, and that placement with kinship caregivers was not viable as the parents could not agree on safe caregivers amid ongoing marital conflict involving their extended families. The District Judge accordingly made the interim orders as set out, to remain in place pending the next mention on 25 February 2026.
