Summary
Kishor Kumar, a prisoner awaiting capital punishment, applied for a stay of execution the evening before his scheduled execution date, seeking permission to bring a post-appeal application in a capital case. His primary argument was that a co-accused's testimony about his lack of knowledge of the drugs should warrant a review of his conviction. The application was summarily dismissed as wholly devoid of merit, and counsel was personally ordered to pay $3,000 in costs to the Prosecution for filing the unmeritorious last-minute application.
